For a while Microsoft has played with the idea of releasing a remake of its classic strategy fighting game Phantom Dust, where the on-screen action melds with the mechanics of a competitive card game. A fresh idea at the time and still very cool today, Phantom Dust has remained a cult favourite for many years. And in a surprise announcement a remastered version is going to be given away, for free, starting tomorrow for Xbox One and Windows 10.

As an Xbox Play Anywhere title, progression will continue across both platforms seamlessly.

What exactly is Phantom Dust? Well as an original Xbox game from way back in the day, we didn't know either. So here's Microsoft's Adam Isgreen excitedly explaining the ins and outs of the game.
