Developer Haemimont Games, better known for letting players live out their fantasies as the ruler of a banana republic in a fictionalised South America, is teaming up with Cities Skylines publisher Paradox Interactive for its upcoming game Surviving Mars. Which as per the title, will put players in charge of planning and building a functioning colony on everyone's favourite Red Planet -- Mars.
If you've played any of the last few Tropico games then the following quote will definitely get you excited for this.
“We feel that strategy and management games are at their best when they let the player experience the unique story being told by their decisions, and Surviving Mars is going to have that in a big way,” said Gabriel Dobrev, CEO of Haemimont Games. “Your colonists aren’t just working to improve production, they’re struggling to survive, and their conflicts and concerns are intense. Surviving Mars lets you understand what your colonists are dealing with on an individual level, and coming up with creative plans for those needs will be a new challenge for our fans.”
No release date has been set but you can check out the announcement trailer below.
S***! I just came in here to ask if Cities: Skyline was the game that everyone said was better than SimCity. But it sounds like it wasn't, or I'm thinking of a totally different game...?

That last Simcity game though was a massive, massive let down. That probably helped skyline feel better than what it may have otherwise been.
