And it's definitely channeling the look and feel of Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers. Developed by Sledgehammer Games, Call of Duty: WWII takes the series back to its roots with a campaign and setting during World War II. The reveal trailer, which is made up of in-game footage, certainly looks good. It's been such a long time since the last Call of Duty took place in this era that it somehow looks fresh. D-Day recreation and all.
Check it out.
Call of Duty: WWII takes the franchise back to its roots in a bold cinematic experience that captures the unforgettable heroism of the soldiers who fought together in a war that changed the world forever. Activision’s gripping new title is an honest portrayal of World War II from the perspective of the famed 1st Infantry Division, with an ensemble cast of global and diverse characters. Through stunning visuals and intense audio, players storm the beaches of Normandy on D-Day, march across France to liberate Paris and ultimately push forward into Germany in some of the most monumental battles of all-time.
In addition to the campaign the multiplayer is touted as featuring authentic weapons and equipment from the era across multiple European locations. Which could prove to be a big change compared to the wall-running future-tech of recent Call of Duty games.
What do you think, excited to go back to the past for the next Call of Duty? Let us know in the comments.
