Released earlier this year, by all accounts Capcom's return to the survival horror roots of the Resident Evil series has been embraced by fans the world over. Although the first-person perspective was a move away from the action-packed entries preceding it, Resident Evil VII was very much a way for the team at Capcom to return to the staight-up horror roots of the series. In the first part of a new making-of series we get to hear the producers and director of Resident Evill VII talk about the early stages of this, well, reboot.

Called 'Beginning Hours' we get a clear picture of a developer looking to move away from the cinematic action of Resident Evil 6, and look to movies like Evil Dead in trying to present a simple and pure horror experience.

Check it out.

No word on when the additional parts will be uploaded, we'll keep you posted.
