Ahead of the game's launch in the coming months Nintendo are offering up a multiplayer demo this weekend for Splatoon 2 on Nintendo Switch. Called the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire, it's available to pre-load from Nintendo eShop as we speak. In terms of when you can play Nintendo are limiting this to one hour blocks on both Saturday and Sunday.

The demo will include two maps to play on, The Reef and Mussleforge Fitness, and include both new and remixed weapons from the original game. The play times are as follows:

    Saturday, 25th March

  • 6:00am – 6:59am AEDT
  • 2:00pm – 2:59pm AEDT
  • 10:00pm – 10:59pm AEDT

    Sunday, 26th March

  • 6:00am – 6:59am AEDT
  • 2:00pm – 2:59pm AEDT
  • 10:00pm – 10:59pm AEDT


In addition to the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire, Nintendo Australia are also kicking off the 2017 Australia & New Zealand Splatoon Cup where the winning teams will get a free trip to E3 and Nintendo Switch consoles. For more info on that, and registration details, head here.
