At a preview event for Battlefield 1's first expansion, They Shall Not Pass, EA showed off sneak peek details regarding the rest of their DLC content as well. Key among those details for a site called AusGamers — news of a Gallipoli Beach Landing coming to the third expansion, titled "Turning Tides".

This heavily implies — though does not confirm — the idea that ANZACs will feature as an army force by the time the third expansion rolls around. Previously members of DICE have been extremely coy when questioned about the addition of Aussie and New Zealand armed forces in multiplayer. The French army has been added to They Shall Not Pass — the first expansion pack — and the expansion itself revolves around French engagements. Turning Tides focuses on Naval battles, so there is a possibility the ANZACs don't get a good look in — but there'd be a whole mess of upset Aussies (and characteristically easy going Kiwis) if the Gallipoli Campaign didn't feature diggers.

The second expansion "In the Name of the Tsar" will focus on the Eastern European Light Cavalry known as the Hussars, and promises expanded horseplay, and the fourth expansion "Apocalypse" wasn't detailed much, but will almost definitely have nothing to do with a blue dude mumbling his way through the second worst X-Men movie.

Other news out of the preview event includes the fact that prominent Battlefield playing Youtubers prefer to go for kills instead of playing the fucking objective, as evidenced by the following screenshot. Meanwhile, you can read my thoughts about the new Frontlines mode now!

You do realise that Gallipoli was not all about the ANZACs. Especially when the Brits had 345,000, the French 79,000 and the ANZACs only 65,000...

I know these things, but
A: they have the British Army already
B: the French army joins the game with this expansion pack (should have been there from the get-go)
C: it's a pretty important cultural event in the history of a relatively young nation
D: I said it was possible that the Anzacs wouldn't be added
E: I want it to happen

I haven't played BF1 in a couple of months. I should update the client so I can play again when I want to. Would be nice if the ANZACs got a look in, Perhaps we will see or hear some there in the game if we don't play as one.

There's Anzacs in the single player campaign isn't there? Makes sense they'll show up in multiplayer at some point

Hurricane Jim with those hard earned facts straight from the Wikipedia article.
Good stuff...
Yeah there were heaps of Brits there and French but Gallipoli wasn't a pivotal moment for those nations. It was just a s*** fight...that they lost.

For Australia it had a lot more effect on the national identity.

And for the dude who says it was a defining moment for two young nations...The Ottoman EMPIRE was young???

No, but New Zealand was

That's what I figured he meant as well. Although the happenings in World War 1 were directly responsible for the creation of Turkey as a nation so maybe that's where confusion kicked in.
