Okay, so remember how we reported on the rumour that Doomfist probably won't be the next hero to join the ranks and how it might be a Greek Character. Well, scrap that noise, because thanks to a rather cryptic new post by Blizzard we're now of the belief that it'll be a prodigious child's robot. Or, robots. Thanks to a post over on the Overwatch Blog, an interview with 11 year-old inventor Efi Oladele of Numbani, the speculation timer has effectively been reset.
It's a fun read, so if you're a fan of the franchise and its lore you should definitely check it out. There's no word on whether or not the post is in reference to a new hero, but at this stage it's probably best to simply assume that's the case with anything Overwatch these days. According to the Spotlight on Numbani report on Efi Oladele, "In the last year, she's built a resume of impressive achievements in robotics and artificial intelligence, but perhaps most remarkably is that she's done all of this by the age of eleven. Last month, she became the most recent recipient of the Adawe Foundation's prestigious "genius grant," in recognition of her many accomplishments. She is undoubtedly someone whose career will be watched with great interest."
It's probably safe to assume that the next Overwatch hero won't be an 11 year-old girl, mainly because of the, you know, shooting and killing. So the safe money is on one of her robots. Or, robots plural. Anyway, who knows anymore. The safe money a week ago was on Doomfist, and yesterday a Greek dude. Today, a small child.
Blizzie Blizzie Blizzie can't you see
Sometimes your words just hypnotize me
And I just love your flashy ways
Guess that's why they broke, and you're so paid
