Playground Games, the developers behind the stellar Forza Horizon series, are opening up a new studio to work on a new mysterious Project 2. A game that won't be strictly a racing title. To date the studio has worked on each new entry in the Forza Horizon series one after the next, and with the success of last year's Australia-based Forza Horizon 3, there's no doubt that the team at Playground Games is working on a Forza Horizon 4.

The new studio and project will allow the developer to branch out into new territory. Which is something that excites founder and creative director Ralph Fulton. He told GamesIndustry.biz that "Opening another studio is something we've been talking about for a good few years, but we've been keen not to rush into it." Contunuing, "It's a great opportunity for us to test ourselves in a different genre."

The new studio will be housed in the same UK area called Royal Leamington Spa, which is a hub of game development in the region.
