Still in Closed Beta, the standalone GWENT has just gotten a major update that adds Ranked Play, a bunch of new cards, a revamped player progression system, and a number of balance changes. The patch includes a number of things based off of community feedback that developer CD Projekt RED has received from the Closed Beta so far.
You can check out the latest patch notes, or watch the following developer video that goes through the new player progression system.
Oooooh Ranked Play. Hopefully they've allowed for XB1 players to actually search for PC players rather than the system just being random match-ups, I wanna fight Joab, from the comfort of my couch
Played some of the new update last night, enjoying the Ranked system, chasing ranking points, losing them, and working through dailies. Reminds me of the early days of Hearthstone when that game was less convoluted than it is now. Is it just me, or did they lower the Ciri gold from 8 to 6? If so, I'm glad they did. Philippa is still pretty dangerous too, which I'm happy about. Good to see the placeholder for the single-player stuff there as well - we must be close to final release by now
