Deck 13, the studio behind the equally Dark Souls-like Lords of the Fallen, are creating a new sci-fi themed action-RPG called The Surge. And in the latest bit of gameplay footage we get to see a few snippets of combat, a player death, some inventory stuff, and even a giant boss. A giant boss that looks like one of those cranes from construction site come to like. Which, as you'd expect is nowhere near as impressive as some of the spectacular bosses from the Dark Souls franchise.

Now, that's not to say that The Surge is looking uninspired. Because this Pre-Alpha Footage has certainly grabbed our attention. And any game that aspires to be like Dark Souls is probably worth checking out. Doubly so, if it's futuristic.
