But, there's a catch. In that the offer will only extend to the first two campaign levels, multiplayer up to rank 15, and zombies up to rank three. Either way, it's a generous free weekend offering that is essentially a week of free Call of Duty. No word if the offer extends to PC, as so far only PS4 and Xbox One has been confirmed as platforms. The offer begin on Friday and will run through to next week.

Naturally, all progress will be carried over should you choose to purchase the game.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of recent Call of Duty sales figures which put the latest entry in the blockbuster franchise well below expectations. Which makes you wonder if this free trial is a direct or indirect response to that.
