It's feels strange to say this, mainly because it's a racing game, but Forza Horizon 3 has turned out to be one of the year's best games, regardless of genre. Naturally, being set in a fantastical version of Australia kind of makes us love it just that little more, but the mix of freedom, great tracks, and wonderful locations, are hard to ignore. And now the game is set to receive it's first expansion, called Blizzard Mountain.

And will feature "snow, ice, extreme elevations and blizzards". So yeah, quite the departure from driving around the Outback and Yarra Valley. No word yet on which real world location(s) Blizzard Mountain will attempt to emulate, or even how it will connect the current in-game map.

The expansion is set to be released December 13, and will also come packed with eight new vehicles -- including the 2016 Ford GYMKHANA 9 Focus RS RX.
