Hot on the heels of Hi-Rez Studios' Paladins entering open beta comes the announcement of a new turn-based strategy game, SMITE Tactics. Born from the studio experimenting with creating their own board-game and god-themed cards, SMITE Tactics looks to take the franchise in an entirely new direction. One where grids, movement, attacks, and strategy are key.

"We’ve always wanted to expand the SMITE universe," said Scott Lussier, Lead Designer on SMITE Tactics. "SMITE has millions of fans worldwide, and with SMITE Tactics, players will get to experience mythological warfare from a whole new perspective, overseeing battles as their favorite gods and goddesses while wielding their signature abilities."
 

SMITE Tactics will offer 1v1 in addition to adventure modes against the AI. Here's hoping that they use this to add a fair dose of story into the already very rich mix of SMITE characters. Check out the reveal below.
