From Samurai to Knight to Viking dude. The melee combat styling of For Honor is a refreshing departure from the button-mashing unrealistic hit detection of most third-person action games. Providing "a layer of depth few games in the space have". With the full game slated for release in February the game is heading into a closed alpha test soon, and we've got three trailers showcasing some of the visceral combat.

First up, we've got the Kensei from samurai warrior faction.

Next up is the Warden from the Knight faction, who comes equipped with a massive two-handed sword.

And finally there's the scruffy, but very cool Viking Raider.
