Making its debut in the mid-90s, Master of Orion was one of the defining strategy games of its day, and introduced many to the concept of 4X. That being eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate. Which made sense at the time, what with the 90s being all about extreme sports and something called the X Games. Anyway, Master of Orion is back! A modern re-telling of the classic series featuring an all-star cast including the likes of Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Michael Dorn (Star Trek: The Next Generation) and Alan Tudyk (Firefly).

It's like a sci-fi gaming dream come true. Already available as an Early Access title, the full version of Master of Orion is already available to purchase from Steam and GOG.com ahead of its August 25 launch. With player feedback helping to shape the final product, fingers crossed it lives up to the original.
