Even though it doesn't really feel like we've been missing out on fresh Sonic the Hedgehog games, 2017 will see two new titles starring everyone's favourite blue hedgehog with decidedly '90s attitude. Celebrating 25 years of Sonic the first title is called Project Sonic, and it's a look at a world in ruins that needs the service of a blue hero. Or two. The second title is called Sonic Mania and will feature new and remixed levels from the classic 16-bit Sonic era.

And we've got trailers to go along with the announcement. Here's the first look at Project Sonic, due late 2017. It may be hard to tell anything from this teaser but there are hints that it will support co-op play.

And here's the retro-fueled trailer for Sonic Mania which looks like a Sega Mega Drive dream come true. Sonic Mania is due for release sometime in the first half of 2017.
