F1 2016 to Feature Multiplayer Support for 22-Players

Which, according to the fine folks at Wikipedia is the total number of cars on the track in the 2016 Formula One World Championship. I knew that number probably meant something, as to randomly pick 22 would have seemed weird. But yeah, 22 players. Not only that but F1 2016 will also feature the formation lap and manual starts. Plus, as seen in the new trailer, a bunch of people to shake hands with.



In talking about the new features, Principal Games Designer Lee Mather had the following to say.

"We strive to create a game that is as close to the actual sport as possible. We have listened to the feedback from our community and that has resulted in us introducing the Safety Car, Virtual Safety Car, Formation Lap, manual race starts and the host of other gameplay features that get us even closer to the real sport and add to the experience for the player.

Increasing the multiplayer support to 22 players was extremely important to us, we want to be able to fill the whole grid with human players to create those great race moments and stories. It also provides greater support for online leagues.”

Sweet - now 22 players can all hit an invisible wall making everyone go 300-0 in 0.000s.
