Which means that it's on track for release next month! To say that the game is highly anticipated would be tantamount to calling Star Wars just a fun little sci-fi film. No Man's Sky is one of the most ambitious sounding open world sci-fi games currently on the horizon, the sort of experience where the more you hear about it the more you want to play it. If only to try and wrap your head around its scope.

The announcement was made via Twitter where Hello Games founder Sean Murray can be seen holding up a copy of the final game in front of his team of justifiably excited developers.

The game currently has a release window of sometime between August 9-12.

Is it still highly anticipated though? Back when it was first shown off and the concept captured everyone's imagination it was hyped all over the place, but I don't think I've even heard anyone mention it for months now. As the mystery of it got stripped away and more and more gameplay videos and such came out, it felt like people were getting less interested in it. Maybe thats just my skewed impression though

Looks like it's going to be stunning and cool, but kinda boring. Though the concept and execution (procedurally generated universe) is incredible.
