Which is to say that MachineGames, the developers behind the fantastic Wolfenstein: The New Order has released a brand new episode of single-player levels for the original Quake. Available via a simple download, all you need to do is extract the file into your Quake directory, run the batch file, and you'll be partying like it was 1996.

The surprise and welcome announcement was made via Twitter.

Now to re-install one of the dozens of versions of Quake acquired over the years and fire this up!
