It's not often that a Total War game features a Celestial Wizard that carries a golden scepter and dresses on the side of fanciful. Actually, that hasn't happened before at all. And it look like they pulled it off too. In the latest combat video for Total War: WARHAMMER we get a look at a battle between The Empire and Chaos Warrior against the snowy backdrop of some far off fantasy land.
This first-look at the Chaos Warriors showcases a range of Chaos units, from core infantry such as Chaos Marauders and Warriors, to higher-tier monstrosities such as the Chaos Giant and the brutal Hellcannon – a foul instrument which transmutes souls into flesh-searing bolts of arcane energy and hurls them into the enemy ranks.
Okay so the Chaos Warriors are only available as a playable race to those that pre-order the game, which naturally has led to some unfavorable comments about the whole thing. But hey, if you're a fan of both Warhammer and Total War then this looks like a fairly easy decision to make.
So we miss out on the Dark, High and Wood Elves, Skaven, Lizardmen, Tomb Kings, Ogres and Bretonnians (even though their lands are involved in the main campaign). I hope they are released in the DLC's.
Creative Assembly have a habit of doing this. Charging you to play for factions that are already in the game.......pretty d*** move. But modders find a way. They have for previous Total War Games.
