The multiplayer in the upcoming DOOM reboot certainly looks fast, real fast. It's like the best parts of Quake filtered through the gory insanity of a game where you can turn into a giant demon and rip your opponents limbs off in a gruesome red fountain of triumph. The new trailer is probably our best look at the game so far, with the closed beta expected to begin later this month on March 31.
The beta will let players loose on two maps and modes, Team Deathmatch and Warpath. The Warpath mode is the game's spin on King of the Hill, with a moving "hill" and the added charm of runes that turn players into powerful demons. Access to the closed beta at this point seems to be limited to those that pre-ordered Wolfenstein: The New Order. For more information on the Beta, head here.
DOOM will be out May 13 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
hmm. I'm interested. In the air, looks like the acceleration from gravity is reduced, so they floating a bit with slow landings. Strafe speed does not look all that fast. I might play it. Need a decent FPS. But I'll only play if the model makes a grunt, grunt, grunt while strafe jumping down the hall. I like the architecture, and wall textures etc in this.

My 19 year old son calls it "Demon Halo" but I thinks its going to be much better than his estimation. I hope.

They should do what they did with quake live and spend a big chunk of their steam client release budget on a new voice actor who sounded like a pussy.
