And it'll be a free-to-play curated Forza 6 experience featuring over 60 cars and 20 tracks. This PC version of Forza 6 is also set to bring along the great but badly titled Drivatar AI system from the recent Forza titles, as well as the equally great and also badly titled Forzavista showroom mode. Full details on the title are a little scarce, but there's a rather impressive 4K trailer.

So if you have any doubts about this being a free-to-play title on the underwhelming Windows 10 Store, the following trailer should alleviate any doubts as to the quality of the game.

Be sure to full-screen it, and watch it in 4K. Assuming of course that your screen can handle it.

As for details on Forza Motorsport 6: Apex, Microsoft released the following. Talking about some of the modes on offer.

New Showcase Tour, Objective System and Spotlight Series

  • Designed for players who are new to the Forza franchise, Forza Motorsport 6: Apex delivers a curated experience, featuring authentic wheel-to-wheel action, unique automotive content and constant rewards. The career mode is anchored by a new 12-event “Showcase Tour,” which introduces players to fascinating cars and unique automotive match-ups through a series of beautifully crafted and entertaining videos, narrated by automotive celebrities such as James May and Richard Hammond.

  • Forza Motorsport 6: Apex features a new objective and scoring system, which challenges the player to grow their skill and compare scores with their friends, and each event is a completely unique experience with unending replay value.

  • In addition, a new “Spotlight Series” will feature new Showcase-style events that will be updated on a regular basis. Whether you’re barreling around rainy Brands Hatch in your all-wheel-drive street weapon of choice or chasing down The Stig from “Top Gear” in cockpit view, there are always new and fun challenges to explore.

  • No word yet on how the whole free-to-play thing will work, but we're assuming the title will follow the Forza series model seen on the Xbox with seasonal car packs and additional content.

Free to play? I would have been happy to shell out $80 for a fully-featured, microtransactionless game but it looks like I'll be sticking to Project Cars.

Man that looks glorious. Admittedly it was my first 4K video - don't normally watch youtube in high def, fail videos don't require it.

Micro transactions could work really well here. I was skeptical about Dead or Alive, but it works really well with it so I'd give this a chance.
