Daybreak Games has announced its plan to split H1Z1 into two separate games on February 17. The first, dubbed 'Just Survive', will be the open-world zombie survival experience, and the other 'King of the Kill' will be the fast-paced shooter with multiple game modes. Treated as separate games (with the same price point), each will have its own separate development cycle. 'King of the Kill' is the first game expected to leave Steam Early Access with a full release on both PC and consoles expected sometime mid this year.

Just Survive is also expected to get a console release but there's no word yet on when it is expected to leave Early Access. As both parts of the H1Z1 experience are still available under the one banner, all current owners of the game will get access to both games come February 17.

To find out more about the split, head over to the official site.
