Over 100 classic Atari titles from the '70s and '80s are headed to Steam, including the likes of Asteroids, Centipede, and Missile Command, in a new package called Atari Vault. With controller support, UI improvements, leader-boards, and multiplayer support, development is being handled by Code Mystics whose recent credits include the wonderful Rare Replay for Xbox One. The release for Atari Vault is expect in Autumn.

Now, 100 titles may sound like a lot, but in terms of Atari games from this era, a lot of them were pretty much just re-skins. On hardware that makes the Super Nintendo look like a GeForce 98,0002.6 GTX-powered Super PC from the Year 2032.

So here's hoping it's more this.

Than this.
