Turns out that a lot of people out there shop "on the line" on this thing called "the internetwork". What happens is they use their personal computing machine and use a piece of software named after Mario's nemesis, called a "Bowser". So with the world changing it's shopping habits, and laying down some money for a game long before it comes out becoming the norm, it looks like release dates for some high profile releases are popping up "on the line" before any official announcement.
So yeah, the upcoming DOOM
from id Software is certainly on the radar for a lot of people, and according to a listing on Amazon France it will be released on June 30. The date has since been changed to the more placeholder December 30, 2016, but not before the keen watchers of the internet took note of this seemingly leaked release date.
Keeping it in the realm of shooters, the upcoming 'U.S. is invaded by people who look different so lets shoot them simulator' Homefront: The Revolution
will be out on May 17. That is, according to Target.
Finally we have the third installment in the Mafia series, called Mafia 3
. According to listings on Best Buy, Amazon, and GameStop, the release date for the open-world life of crime game is April 26. Which, kind of doesn't sound right. Mainly because we haven't really seen all that much from the game, which to many out there is still a bit of a mystery.
So there you have it. Release dates according to retailers. And as all these dates haven't been officially announced by publishers or developers, they firmly remain "definitely maybes".
