In preparation for the latest patch for Diablo III, Blizzard has posted a 'Are You Prepared for 2.4.0?' page detailing some of the key changes. And in typical fashion there's a lot of new stuff coming to the game. There's a new area to explore, a number of existing set items are getting revamped, and then there's the new challenges of Set Dungeons and Empowered Rifts to tackle. The post-launch strategy since the release of the Reaper of Souls expansion is clearly one to take note of. A steady stream of free and substantial content.

Of all the changes the Empowered Rifts sound the most interesting as they use gold to enhance your Legendary Gems. With the risk of losing a lot of money if you die along the way. With gold becoming somewhat useless for veteran players this adds a much needed new dimension to simply amassing billions of the shiny yellow stuff.
