Okay, so the next Mirror's Edge game was due in February of next year, which is surprising considering we haven't seen all that much on the game. It was actually slated to be released on the same day (or week) as Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Far Cry Primal. Early 2016 is shaping up to be a pretty busy time for gaming in general. So, with the release date for Mirror's Edge Catalyst now pushed to May 24, 2016, this extra time will no doubt mean a few extra coats of parkour polish.
The announcement on the official Mirror's Edge site basically states as much.
Years ago, we set out an ambitious vision for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. Achieving that vision and delivering the best possible experience is equally inspiring and challenging. And it takes time. We set out to create a vast city to explore, full of stunning vistas, majestic skyscrapers, and mysterious tunnels. We’re building the most immersive action-adventure game with fluid movement and combat in first person. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will be an all-new playground with a deeper and more engaging story - and we want to accomplish all these goals to the highest quality possible. We will use these few extra months to make sure that when you step into the massive City of Glass and experience the rise of Faith, it’s as entertaining, impressive, and memorable as it can be.
Here's the gameplay footage that was released a few months back after the E3 announcement.
