Our pals in Melbourne at MMGN have brought our attention to a bit of buzz that happened overnight where it's alleged by a CD Projekt RED employee that EA was visiting the studio and that it could only mean "that they want to buy us".

"I’m employee of CD Projekt RED and I have some bad news to share with you. Our management is probably talking with Electronic Arts about potential take over. Electronic Arts representatives are currently visiting our studio and meeting with top management. We are not going to release any game soon, so for sure it’s not about any publishing deal, so the only possible reason for EA guys being here is that they want to buy us."
This is the comment that came from the employee, however, the whole affair has been quickly shutdown by CD Projekt RED by way of an official statement:
We usually don’t comment on rumors, but this one has become quite viral and we think it deserves to be put to bed: we are not talking with anyone regarding selling CD PROJEKT RED or GOG.com. Period. And the payslip is a fake – it was not issued by our company.
The payslip in question was part of the original story which appeared on DSO Gaming.

The whole thing seems a bit dodgy, but we certainly wouldn't put it past a company like EA to want CD Projekt RED in its stable. Remember what happened with BioWare. It's a very unlikely scenario though, especially after the success of The Witcher 3.

Well. Hopefully Projeckt RED can get this cyberpunk game out before EA touches them with their Powers Of F***edness.

Yeah, there's no way a bloated corporation like EA could be visiting CD Projekt RED to see how a small studio turned out a AAA game of the year contender on less money than they spend marketing one of their products...

What are you talking about? The game cost 306 million Polish złoty (82 million USD). CD Projekt RED is not small studio.

Also they're in Poland where I presume 82m USD goes a long way.

Yeah Its a bit of a misunderstanding there. CDPR are f*****g massive. not on EA's scale obviously but I'm pretty sure they own most of Poland and are preparing for world domination after dropping a game that.f*****g.good.
