EA is building Motive, a new studio in Montreal, with former Managing Director of Ubisoft Toronto Jade Raymond at the head.
According to
a post on EA's site today, Motive Studios is being built right now, and EA are taking applications via
JoinMotive@ea.com.
The post hints at the fact that Motive will be working with the Frostbite engine, which makes sense -- EA loves that thing. Jade mentions something about new IPs, and she will be overseeing the work of the Visceral Games in California -- the team responsible for the hit and miss Battlefield: Hardline -- and as such she will work alongside Amy Hennig on EA's new Star Wars game.
It seems, from the way it is worded, that Motive Studios is an incubator and support studio -- Jade mentions working with both Visceral Games and BioWare Montreal, but makes no mention of any independent studio productions as yet. Which makes sense, seeing how the studio is still being put together.
