The complete overhaul to Dota 2, dubbed Dota 2 Reborn has entered open beta today. Sporting improvements across the board, from a sleek new user interface to the addition of custom games, this new Dota 2 is also running on Valve's Source 2 engine. Which, in addition to making the game look prettier, will also improve input latency and performance across new and old hardware.

A tour of the new level editor

The tagline 'New Interface, New Engine, New Ways to Play' certainly sums up the almost complete remake that Dota 2 Reborn represents. Custom Games, a new addition that will allow for the creation and sharing of community created content, is especially exciting. The level of detail in this overhaul not only means that the community will have access to a level editor, but a complete development suite too. One that includes character model and particle editors as well as detailed debugging tools.

The new interface itself is something to behold too, as it provides easy access to basically every community and game feature that you'd want it too. And hey, instead of going through all the changes here, simply fire up Dota 2 sign up to the beta and then take it for a spin.

Just a heads up that there aren't any Australian servers live yet for it.
