A surprise announcement at Microsoft's E3 conference was definitely the existence of ReCore, a new game from Keiji Inafune and the makers of Metroid Prime. And with that sort of pedigree it's no wonder that's exactly how this new Xbox One exclusive is being billed. But apart from the trailer, which depicts a futuristic existence where a girl and her robot dog run into a bit of futuristic robot trouble, not much else is known about the game.

But even so the small amount of shooting at robots we do get to see in this very stylish and sleek looking Wall-E meets Metroid trailer, there will no doubt be a heavy action component in the final product. To complement the no doubt heavy focus on exploration.

Plus what we imagine will be the ability to team up with a variety of different robot companions.

And much like every thing else shown in trailer-only form at E3, ReCore is due for release in 2016.
