You'd be hard pressed to think of a game series that has been as dedicated to presenting realistic historic warfare on a grand a scale as the Total War series. Which is all set to change with the addition of Total War: Warhammer, a new entry based on the popular table top franchise that deals in humans fighting orks and other monsters. Creative assembly have released a bunch of screenshots of some of battles you can expect to see in the final game. And they look pretty amazing.

Are those flying units? Sure are. Giant ogres with massive bones used for weapons? Yep.

How exactly the grand scale of Total War encounters will work in a world brimming with the fantastic still remains to be seen. But, it sure does look pretty good so far.

I cant put into words how excited I am about this game!
I really hope they have the orcs doing/saying all the stupid hilarious things they normally do.

GW is probably letting them do this now because the table top game is changing to something else.

How is this a "first look"? This is just computer art.. It's not gameplay footage, or representative of anything like the game will look.

A video would say so much more, but it does look nice. Nothing one can really say that looks bad that's for sure. I want to know the battle features/controls.
