In a series first, the premiere videogame series for the world's favourite sport will feature a line-up of national teams to play as. Wait, hold on a second. That doesn't sound like news. In fact, that sounds completely wrong. Let me read that again. Okay, so it looks like FIFA 16 will be the first FIFA game to feature female national teams for the first time. Right, now that's definitely news worthy.

And the sort of thing that makes perfect sense. Soccer is a global sport, and there's popular and competitive leagues made up of female teams. Plus there's a female World Cup, which Australia does pretty well in. Plus, sports games hardly ever feature female teams. So the time is right.

EA Sports have noted that you won't be able to pit female teams against male teams.
