In a move that a comic book nerd might call "a superhero team-up", or "a crossover spectacular", or even "a non-canonical examination of what it means to have superpowers without messing up the current Thanos as Galactic Dimensional Overlord story arc" comes word that Telltale Games are working on a new game series set somewhere within the Marvel Universe. And it's coming in 2017.
As per the announcement made via their website, details as to what Marvel property the series will focus on is still up in the air.
Announced this evening in San Francisco, we're excited to reveal an all-new partnership with the incredible team at Marvel Entertainment. We'll be teaming up on the development of an upcoming Telltale game series project set to premiere in 2017!
So, will it be Spiderman? One of the X-Men? Perhaps an Avenger? Or maybe a Guardian of the Galaxy? Nobody really knows, but as this is coming from the studio that worked wonders with existing properties like The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, and Game of Thrones, excitement for this partnership is understandably high.
Here's hoping they do the right thing though, and include a Samuel L. Jackson cameo in the post-credits sequence after each episode.
