This week we take a look at the racing game that took the 'Bantha Poodoo' out of Star Wars Episode I. Released a few weeks before The Phantom Menace hit theatres in 1999, this well-received racer debuted on the N64, PC, and later Sega Dreamcast. How does it hold up today? Well, we find out.

From this weeks entry:
So before the eventual cinematic let-down that is Episode I, Star Wars fans everywhere were understandably excited about the prospect of Pod Racing. I played the hell out of this game, I think on N64. The Star Wars Episode I games were so much better than the movie.

I also played that game a lot on the N64. My favourite racing game still.

I used to wreck my mates as the little bat-eared guy with the "slow" but agile podracer. Poor suckers thought it was better to go fast, but when you stopped playing the basic tracks maneuverability won out every time.

HD remake when?
