While it was announced a short time ago, Blizzard more recently gave AusGamers a chance to chat with two members from Blizzard's illustrious Team 5 -- the group behind all the magic of Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft about the game's next single-player adventure: Blackrock Mountain.
Much was discussed in our chat with senior gameplay designer Mike Donais and art-director Ben Thompson, including which bosses they'd love to pull from Warcraft lore for the potential next adventure, but more pertinent information like this was the actual gravy:
Ben: Kyle Harrison (senior technical artist) has spent a lot of time with our tech artists, really focusing on how this feels platform to platform. And where he was very integral when he was to be moved to iPad, he’s been no less integral to a move to any other [platform] be it iPhone or Android or any number of different phone devices or platforms. There will be some changes in quality, but [as] minor as possible when you consider a lower-end iPhone, say like a 4S to obviously a 6 but those changes or ‘decreases’ in quality are minor-to-not-even-noticeable wherever possible. And we take that very seriously when it comes to either a golden card or how an effect is displayed, or even how the lava on the Blackrock Mountain board is glowing, or not… or to what degree -- all of those things are looked at and ultimately if we go back to the previous answer: if you go back to gameplay first if something is affecting your experience in there, and if it’s affecting it negatively in any way, it goes. Either adjusted or touched up.
