After some recent rumours saying that the eagerly anticipated PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 was looking like it was delayed, Rockstar were quick to confirm - only 12 days ago - that it was still on track for its targeted release date of January 27th.

However, confirmation that the release date has indeed been pushed back has just arrived, with word on the official Rockstar site that the new date is March 24, 2015:
As we head into 2015, we would like to share the first screens and system specs of Grand Theft Auto V for PC as well as a new release date of March 24, 2015.

Our apologies for the slight shift in the date but the game requires a few extra weeks of testing and polish to make it as good as can be. Moving a release date is never a decision we take lightly and is a choice we make only when we know it is in the best interests of the game and our fans. Thanks everyone for your understanding and we assure you these few extra weeks will be worth it when the game does arrive in March.
The post also includes some new screenshots as well as revealing the minimum and recommended system specifications required (make sure you've got 65GB of hard disk space free!).

Id rather they put off the release date and make sure its polished, instead of doing an EA.

Cannot wait for this! Already played on PS3, will be buying again on PC.

65 gigs.. I guess we will be seeing more of these sized games now with xbone and ps4 out. Are they running no compression on textures/sound/video or something?

NBN can't come soon enough.

They will definitely need to give us at least a week's preload on steam for 65gb.

Not surprised, but it it's better to wait if it's not up to scratch.

I appreciate why they delay the release for PC (simply from a dollars and cents perspective on potential income loss to pirating alone) but it really s**** me when a company sets a release date, and then chokes on it. (ESP when 'rumours were quashed' not even a fortnight ago.)

Ahem, Rockstar, I've already paid for this game once; I'd like to purchase another copy please.
