PlayerAttack are reporting (via
VG247) that a suspicious "Borderlands Remastered Edition" has been passed through the
Australian Classification Board, suggesting that Gearbox and 2K Games could be offering up a newer version of the classic loot FPS.
The multi-platform title received a classification of MA15+, which VG247 points out is the same as the original's release back in 2009. No other information is available at this point, with 2K and the Classification Board quite tight-lipped on the discovery.
What is interesting though is that the recent classification notes developers Gearbox Software, the original developer on the game, plus 2K Australia - who recently developed Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. This could suggest that 2K Australia was tasked with completing a remastered edition, though nothing has been confirmed.

I mean, jeez. Talk about milking a franchise...
Why would you buy a "remastered edition" when the original isn't that old and you can pick up the GOTY edition for like $5 in the winter steam sale?
If it's heavily discounted and has things worth actually buying it for, I might consider it. But otherwise, it's just BEGGING to be pirated by the people who already own the game and don't want to buy it again.
