Sony has announced it's released a 20th Anniversary Edition of its PlayStation 4 console to celebrate its milestone birthday.

The new model, which comes in the same 'Original Grey' finish as the very first PlayStation that launched back in Japan on December 3, 1994, will be available in extremely limited quantities. Just 12,300 of the consoles will be released worldwide, to reflect the launch date of the original console.

Sony has yet to reveal how you'll be able to get your hands on the console, though in Europe it apparently won't be through traditional retail channels, and presumably that means Australia may get a chance. For North America, full details about how and where you'll be able to place a pre-order will be revealed at this weekend's PlayStation Experience, during the opening keynote that takes place December 7th for Australian viewers at 4:00AM AEST.
