Riot Games has today announced a new champion for its ever-growing list of playable characters in free-to-play MOBA League of Legends, adding a unique playstyle around burrowing.
Rek'Sai –– otherwise known as the Void Burrower –– is a mobile, evasive and quick jungler that can jump from camp to camp, according to the champion's
League of Legends page. She has the ability to tunnel underground, which helps her escape difficult situations, but also gives her Tremor Sense. This mechanic shows the enemy activity in a wide field around the burrower.
Although Rek'Sai doesn't have much burst damage, she's useful when ganking with her more powerful allies, as she can attack from a variety of underground angles, and both slow and stop her target's escape. Her passive ability, Fury of the Xer'Sai, grants her the titular fury, allowing her to burrow and recharge health.
Fury also contributes to the champion's damage. The higher Rek'Sai's fury bar, the more damage she does with Furious Bite. If the fury bar is completely full, however, she'll do true damage. Surviving depends the player's ability to escape, regenerate health, and attack from another angle.
