Konami has unveiled the system specs for the long-awaited PC version of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, the prequel to open-world title Phantom Pain, and they aren't too big on the budget.
Minimum Specifications:
OS: Windows Vista 64-Bit or later
Processor: Core i5 SandyBridge 4Core (4 Thread) 2.7GHz or above
Memory: 4 GB RAM or above
Graphics: GeForce GTX 650 or above
DirectX: Version 11 or above
Recommended Specifications:
OS: Windows Vista 64-Bit or later
Processor: Core i5 SandyBridge 4Core (4 Thread) 2.7GHz or above
Memory: 8 GB RAM or above
Graphics: GeForce GTX 760 or above
DirectX: Version 11 or above
So while it is nothing too crazy, you should probably avoid running this one on a creaky old laptop.
Konami has also been quite intent on letting the PC world know that this won't be one of those barebones ports that sullies a series' good name forever. What has been promised so far includes customizable controls, Steam achievements, Steam Cloud support, and all that good stuff. Of course, there could still be framerate locks and restrictive graphics pre-sets, so we'll have to wait and see before we can declare it as a good port.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is heading onto PC come December 18th. You can pre-order it now
on Steam.
