If you thought World of Warcraft was showing signs of weakness in their subscriber count of recent, well it seems that small sign of decay has been wiped clean thanks to the latest Warlords of Draenor expansion launch which has now sold more than 3.3 million copies.
The incredibly high number of sales has also pushed up subscriber counts for the MMO, with the latest figures standing at over 10 million active accounts. For a game approaching its tenth year of running, that kind of power is incredible to say the least.
“We’re thrilled that so many players jumped in to play Warlords of Draenor on day one and are having a great time with the new content,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We poured a lot of hard work and passion into this expansion, and we appreciate all the kind words from players and the overwhelming support they continue to show for World of Warcraft.”

That's what I was thinking. I prolly wouldn't be so quick to be throwing around those numbers this early.

Does it matter? the sub price is the same regardless of which expansions you own.
So they scored a month or two of 10 mil peoples coin before the hype around a new xpac drops and we are all back to a much smaller sub number.
