Square Enix will soon be correcting their PC release of Final Fantasy XIII with the addition of various graphical settings and the ability to determine proper resolution, features that have been void from the game since its release in October.

In an announcement posted to the game's Steam page, Square Enix says the Final Fantasy 13 team has been "working hard to improve your experience on Steam" and will add custom resolutions (720p, 1080p, etc.) and other unspecified graphics options in a December update.

When Square Enix released the PC version of Final Fantasy 13 in October, the game was locked at 1280 x 720 resolution, with virtually no graphics options. The PC port had a few other quirks, like more compressed cutscenes and an overzealous use of the Esc key.

It appears that Square Enix's update to Final Fantasy 13 will also apply to the upcoming release of Final Fantasy 13-2. The sequel, which is slated to hit Steam and Square Enix's online store on December 11th, promises 60 frames-per-second support, customizable resolution ("720p, 1080p and more") and Japanese Voice support with subtitles. Final Fantasy 13-2 is currently available for pre-order at a 10 percent discount through Steam.
