Techland, the developer behind zombie-infused title Dead Island, has unleashed a new trailer for their next zombie title, this time showing off a new asymmetrical multiplayer mode called "Be the Zombie."

Taking a leaf out of the popular Souls series from developer From Software, players taking part in the four-player online co-op mode will have to keep their wits about them incase of being invaded by the "Zombie." According to the game’s producer Tymon Smektala any online player can be invaded, so don't slack off.

“The game is absolutely huge as it is, but to provide the ultimate zombie survival experience, we added an extra element of unpredictability to our nighttime gameplay, said Smektala. “Online players can face the threat of a possible invasion of their game by the Night Hunter, an extremely powerful, human-controlled zombie mutation.

“These invasions are an inherent part of Dying Light, available on all platforms for all online players from day one.”

The new mode looks to be available to everyone, however those wanting to actually invade other players will have to pre-order the game. The zombie itself is apparently exclusive to pre-orders, however hopefully that's just an early access taste and Techland actually open the mode up to all players later on.

Dying Light is out January 28th 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360. Check out the mode in action below.
