A new glitch in Bungie's sci-fi FPS Destiny has revealed what looks to be details on the content we can expect from the game's two expansions, revealing that the future DLC is at least partially on the disc.

Following this week's most recent patch, a handful of players have been able to get a glimpse at the future expansion content thanks to a glitch that locks them out of selecting missions, but in doing so opens up all missions for viewing. This included the expansion content, which is listed as "requirement not met" where the requirement is to own a particular expansion. Others have noted that this was how content in the alpha/beta appeared, giving legitimacy to the glitch.

While I haven't personally seen the glitch myself, Redditor KilledByDice (thanks VG247) has collated all videos and screenshots of the future content which you can find below:
Earth
  • Strike [Level 10] – The Jovian Complex: A new Hive brood gathers it’s strength beneath the cosmodrome. Find their master and purge them all.
  • Story Mission [Level 18] – The Veil Lifted: Root out the Hive beneath the Cosmodrome and discover a long-hidden secret of the Golden Age.
  • Story Mission [Level 18] – The Seeding: Investigate the return of ancient Hive Wizards, preparing Earth for Crota’s reign.
  • Story Mission [Level 20] – Gone to Ground: Find a Wolves baron and his conspirators who have betrayed the Queen and are hiding in the Cosmodrone.

  • Moon
  • Strike [Level 14] – The House of Wolves: No description
  • Strike [Level 26] – The Summoning Pits: Xyor, the Unwed awaits your arrival at the bottom of the Hellmouth (part of an exotic bounty not new expansion content. Thanks to /u/The7ruth)
  • Raid [Level 28] – Crota’s End: He waits in the dark below
  • Story Mission [Level 20] – The Wakening: Stop the Hive from summoning Crota and consuming our worlds.

  • Venus
  • Story Mission [Level 20] – Wolves’ Harvest: Track down the Queen’s traitorous Wolves and recover what they’ve stolen from the Awoken.
  • Story Mission [Level 22] – The Citadel: Ascend to the top of the Vex stronghold on Venus and assassinate the Wolves’ Kell

  • Mars
  • Strike [Level 20] – The Hypogeum: The resurrection of the Black Garden has begun. Stop the Vex before the Garden’s heart beats again.

  • Reef
  • Raid [Level 28] – Reef Raid: No Description

  • Crucible
  • Skirmish – Only the worthy may face the Trials of Osiris for only the worthy are strong enough to endure what is to come. A string of victories will earn you great rewards – but lose three times and you’re out.
    – 3v3 Team Deathmatch
    – Level Advantages Enabled
    – Weekly Rewards
    – Trial Set Gear
    – Ascendant Materials
    – Crucible Marks
  • While it may be possible to fake screenshots and text descriptions, various YouTubers have uploaded the glitch in action, proving far more difficult to fake. Also adding to credibility is the fact all these pieces of content are listed on datamine website DestinyTracker, among many others.

The discovery of such a glitch has caused questions to be raised among fans, who have shown a bit of anger in discovering that the DLC is on disc in some form, meaning content is there but locked away. Of course, it should be noted that this bug has only appeared this weekend, after several patches since Destiny's launch.

What we definitely know is that we'll just have to wait until the first expansion drops, which is planned for sometime in December. Bungie has not yet mentioned whether expansions will be sold separately, but for those eager you can purchase the Season Pass to gain future access.

I believe it is in the $30-$40 range, though it may have been a bit cheaper through US store.

Now if only the console plebs would get as angry about that bulls*** as I am, but nope.

The two expansions have been planned looooooooong in advance, so its not terribly suprising some expansion references made it into the final code. The expansions themselves were known about since the game was available for pre-order, six months or so ago, but Activision trademarked "The Dark Below", which is the name of one of the expansions, over a year ago. So its been in the works at least that long.

Pave - As I said, if only console peasants got as angry as me. I know some companies do it on PC as well, but the difference is that's usually met with a campaign of anger and customer blow-back.

On console, that's just 'more DLC!'

DLC isn't universally a bad thing though, Skyrim had awesome DLC, as did Fallout 3, and Alan Wake and Burnout Paradise and even that Freedom's Cry one for AC4 was pretty cool. Thats just off the top of my head, I'm sure theres plenty more. Yes, if its stuff thats already on the disc that they just unlock and call DLC, thats pretty shifty, but if its a whole bunch of new content above and beyond the original game, how is that anything but a good thing? You've got a game you like, and now you've got more of it for like $10. Win.
