During the annual Tokyo Games Show Konami unveiled a new concept trailer for horror game Silent Hills - and it's plain disturbing to say the least.
Maggots is the keyword for this trailer. Lots of them. I won't spoil much else but you should definitely check out the video below for an idea on just what to expect from Silent Hills.
Silent Hills is being developed at Kojima Productions, with Metal Gear maestro Hideo Kojima and Hollywood director Guillermo del Toro both attached to the project. The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus plays the lead character.

Even the monsters weren't really horrific because of blood and gore and maggots and whatever else, they were horrific because they were these messed up faceless perversely twisted versions of things from the real world. This game just looks like all the other Silent Hill games since Silent Hill 3, it just utterly misses the point.

Jump scares scare you for a second, then they're gone. Freaky noises have you on the edge of your seat until you find out WHO or WHAT made that noise, and you've smashed it into iddy bitty pieces.
I only play games with headphones on. Good positional audio has actually had me drop the controls (well, take my hand off the mouse) and spin around in my chair looking for the source of the voices. Turns out it's in game audio (I had the door open, I thought shady people were robbing me)
