After rumours on Wednesday suggesting that we may soon be seeing Square Enix's thirteenth Final Fantasy title arrive on Steam, the developer of the long-running fantasy series has officially pulled back the curtain with announcement that the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy will be coming to Steam on October 9th.

Currently the game is available for pre-order with a 10% discount, putting it at the easily digestible $14.39. Considering the playtime you can get out of a Final Fantasy game, that's some extremely awesome price per hour mark. Square Enix also confirmed that it will be the trilogy that comes to Steam, so expect release dates on XIII-2 and Lightning Returns soon enough.

The arrival of XIII on Steam is definitely a monumental one for Square Enix, and for PC players alike. Hopefully with this shift to PC we can expect to see Final Fantasy XV arrive alongside its console brethren in 2015. Check out the Steam page for all the info on the PC version, and find the system requirements below.

Wow... that's actually a pretty amazing price. Besides the linearity and lack of side quests It wasn't a bad game. Personally I'm more interested in XIII-2 but if the whole Fabula Nova Crystallis (Agito/Type-0 has been confirmed for PC release, and XV is rumoured to be) has similar pricing, chances are they'll all be must buys.
