Rockstar have
officially confirmed the release date for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V as January 27, 2015. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 version will land this year on November 18.
It should be noted these are presumably US release dates - we expect an update from the Australian reps in the next few days confirming the Australian release dates.
These next-generation versions will feature the following improvements:
Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC will feature a range of major visual and technical upgrades to make Los Santos and Blaine County more immersive than ever. In addition to increased draw distances and higher resolution, players can expect a range of additions and improvements including:
- New weapons, vehicles and activities
- Additional wildlife
- Denser traffic
- New foliage system
- Enhanced damage and weather effects, and much more
Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC will also feature enhanced radio selections with over 100 additional new songs and new DJ mixes from returning DJs across the game’s 17 radio stations.
If you already have a character in Grand Theft Auto Online, you'll probably be pleased to note that you can transfer them to your choice of PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC.
A new trailer dropped to promote the news:

Sure, 15 years or so ago. And it didn't much resemble the gta of today back then on pc. The first really big gta that laid the groundwork for everything to come was a ps2 exclusive. If anything the franchise owes a lot more to Sony and consoles for its success than it does PC.
Just sayin'.
