After being announced more than a year ago, Mojang's popular open-world sandbox Minecraft will be arriving on Xbox One come September 5th, Microsoft has announced today.
Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will come in at a price tag of $19.99USD (no word yet on Australian pricing), though players who have previously purchased the Xbox 360 edition will be able to claim the game at a nice $4.99 price tag. Microsoft also says physical retailers will begin selling download codes for the game, and Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will get a disc-based retail release this holiday season.
Xbox One owners will also be given the chance to re-download all their digital content purchased for the 360 edition of the game to Minecraft: Xbox One Edition. Mojang has previously stated that the new-gen version boast worlds 36 times larger than the last-gen counterparts.
A PlayStation 4 version is also in the works, though it is unclear as to when we can expect the official launch on Sony's home console.
