After making a brief appearance at Gamescom 2014 this past week, developer BioWare has confirmed in a recent gameplay trailer that the long-awaited player housing for their MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic will be hitting servers as soon as next week.

The new addition will be part of the game's Galactic Strongholds expansion, which will also feature Guild Flagships alongside Strongholds. In short, players of The Old Republic will soon be given the chance to create player and guild housing, complete with fancy Star Wars-themed objects to place in your house.

The trailer below shows off Galactic Strongholds, which releases for long-term subscribers on August 19th. It comes to players with preferred status on September 16, and launches for all on October 14th.

Such a great game and I had a lot of fun playing in tarp with everyone.. almost makes me want to give it another go.

The stories were pretty fun, I ended up racing them all on the double xp weekends with all the legacy xp buffs and complimentary xp buffs and a few from the auction house.

That player housing looks utterly s*** though, just more of the same bland cookie cutter map pieces used everywhere else, with randomly assorted junk spread throughout. They needed to do something like a minigame involving farming resources or something at a base imo.

Actually, the standard housing is only one room. You have to do different missions/crafting/guild tasks to get extra rooms (up to five) and furniture from standard. Everyone who are preferred status, that means those of you who purchased and subscribed prior to the free to play get three rooms with furniture and different achievement frames.

I have eight max level toons (55) and I reckon it will take me more than a month to sort out my player housing. Then there is the guild star destroyer....

Hrm, sounds a little better, but still a one time type of thing.
